“As Kiswire’s electric utility partner, it is incredible to see their rapid growth and support their expansion. The company had just built a new plant in Newberry County in 2013. Now it has kicked-off phase II of its $30 million expansion project, which will add 170,000 sq. ft. to its current plant. This addition will house a plating operation, which involves complex heating techniques used in their production of steel cord and bead wire. Being a reliable partner, ready to meet the increasing needs of an existing industrial customer preserves jobs and promotes the growth of new jobs, and keeps expansion projects local.”

– G. Keith Avery, President & CEO, Newberry Electric Cooperative

“SC Power Team assisted Kiswire in their original site selection of the Newberry Industrial location. Newberry Electric Cooperative’s partnership and support of Kiswire’s needs influenced their decision to stay with cooperative power at their new expansion site. When an industry decides to stay with our power system, that is a great testament to the work of each electric cooperative and our electric system as a collective. Strong, reliable service means future growth opportunities and better jobs for South Carolinians.”

– James Chavez, President & CEO, SC Power Team

“Kiswire, Inc., is pleased and excited about our manufacturing growth in Newberry County. The expansion of the tire manufacturing business in South Carolina and the southeastern United States has brought great opportunities for us as a supplier. This new steel cord plant positions Kiswire as a major supplier to this growing tire business. We are proud to be part of the bright future in South Carolina.”
