More than 450 industrial and commercial employers are members of one of our 19 electric cooperatives. Care for these Legacy Members is the number one priority of the South Carolina Power Team. For over 30 years, a dedicated existing industry program has fostered strong relationships, allowing co-op and Power Team staff to know local plant managers personally. We recognize the companies that create jobs and invest in our communities, and we respond to their needs accordingly.
- Every one of South Carolina’s 19 electric cooperatives has trained staff ready to address the unique power requirements of local industries and businesses.
- Co-ops offer $150,000 annually in grant funding for reimbursement of training costs incurred by businesses for existing employees.
- An additional $2,000,000 in funding is available to incentivize expansions by co-op members that meet specific criteria.
- With 79,000 miles of distribution power lines, our cooperatives own three times the mileage of any other electric utility in the state.
We also offer some unique services through our Business Retention & Expansion office:
- Expansion Consultation: We want to make continuous investment and expansion at your facility a reality.
- 连接: Industries on our power lines have an incredible support team. We are proud to act as facilitator to connect you to resources available to your business.
- Business Retention & Upskilling Incentive: The 业务保留和扩展技能提升激励 offers reimbursements for a portion of documented out-of-pocket costs incurred to train existing employees on new/upgraded equipment. It is available to existing commercial members of South Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives.
