The Clean Energy market that South Carolina has created over the last 10 years is robust and cost-effective for prospects in the industry. In 2021, Solar Energy Industries Association identified South Carolina as one of three emerging solar manufacturing hubs in the United States. For such a geographically small state, South Carolina currently ranks 14^th in solar capacity, with more than 2,099 MW in capacity from existing solar farms. Additionally, the cost of solar energy in South Carolina has decreased by 54% over the last 10 years. As a commitment to our existing and prospective members, the electric cooperatives have a multitude of programs and resources geared towards supporting green energy initiatives on our system.
