A passionate champion for South Carolina, Marc Metcalf, brings his expertise of economic development, business administration, and recruitment to the South Carolina Power Team.

Marc’s role as senior project manager is to advance communities in South Carolina through business recruitment and job creation. Metcalf provides project management assistance to South Carolina Power Team’s partners with all facets of the site selection process. Additionally, he coordinates in-house prospect visits, manages project-related grant programs, and serves as the point of contact for business development logistics. Metcalf travels both stateside and internationally to trade shows and economic development conferences, telling the story of the South Carolina Power Team.

Marc began his journey at the University of South Carolina, earning his bachelor’s degree and later attended North Greenville University obtaining his Master’s in Business Administration. For the next several years Marc worked throughout the Upstate as a marketing consultant, employer services manager, and business recruitment/development officer.

Marc is a member of the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association, the Southern Economic Development Council and was the immediate past chair for the City of Greer Parks and Recreation Association.

Marc is married to his wife, Ashley, a Trauma Coordinator at Prisma Health, and has three kids Samuel, Lily and Charlotte.

he donned the blue vest in high school as a Wal-Mart employee. His first “W-2” job, many lessons were learned from that experience and the “Wal-Mart cheer” still rings true: “Who’s no. 1?? Customers, always!”
