The Clean Energy market that South Carolina has created over the last 10 years is robust and cost-effective for prospects in the industry. In 2021, Solar Energy Industries Association identified South Carolina as one of three emerging solar manufacturing hubs in the United States. For such a geographically small state, South Carolina currently ranks 14th in solar capacity, with more than 2,099 MW in capacity from existing solar farms. Additionally, the cost of solar energy in South Carolina has decreased by 54% over the last 10 years. As a commitment to our existing and prospective members, the electric cooperatives have a multitude of programs and resources geared towards supporting green energy initiatives on our system.
